What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new program designed to provide eligible Australians with a permanent and significant disability with reasonable and necessary supports to achieve their goals, participate in their community, enjoy employment and improve their wellbeing.

Am I eligible?

If you are under 65 years and have a permanent and significant disability, you may be eligible for NDIS services. All patients can have their eligibility assessed by National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

All Amputees under the age of 65 are eligible (providing they are not covered under another insurance scheme).

How do I sign up?

To sign up for NDIS you can contact NDIS online or call 1800 800 110 and complete the application forms.

Under the NDIS, you will have control over your plan and supports.  You can choose which provider you want to use to provide the supports that you want to receive, when you want to receive them.

SSS Prosthetics and Orthotics are a registered NDIS provider for orthotic and prosthetic treatments.  We suggest that at your first contact with your NDIA planner, you request an appointment with SSS to discuss your Prosthetic / Orthotic requirements to ensure that you have the adequate items included in your plan to meet your current and future needs. Our Prosthetist and Orthotist will work closely with you to develop an individual treatment plan to best suit your needs and achieve the best and most comfortable functional outcomes.

We provide prosthetic and orthotic services across North Queensland and have clinics in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Mt. Isa.
